Why I choose to be involved with Local Applause.
Successful networking for me is when I walk away from the event with inspiration and further confirmation that I am doing what I desire for my life.
I attended The Local Applause Networking function and heard Executive Business Coach Barbara Tolliver-Haskins speak. Barbara comes highly recommended and so I knew that I would receive positive feedback and affirmation from her. The inspirational nature of the speaker and the many exuberant people in attendance resulted in the direct success of the networking event.
Since my first attending a Local Applause function, I have become an Ambassador with them as I feel I can spread the word about the camaraderie each person will feel when they attend. Everyone will be uplifted and can walk away standing a little taller knowing that they are doing a great job at whatever they are doing...and that there are others around them truly do applaud them!
As a business woman myself, and someone who networks in my sleep, I know that when anyone, whether an individual, a medium size business owner or a large corporation takes time to stop and breathe, celebrate their current success or highlight an employee - which The Local Applause Network is known for - they will see the added value that this network can offer them and their companies. Teri's Dream Ahh yes…my dream. Let me share this with you. I became a mother at a very young age. I learned then how blessed I was to have such loving and supporting parents. My mother had just returned to college to earn her degree but placed it all on hold for me so she could care for my baby during the day while I continued and completed my HS education, which was not an option for me. I witnessed first hand the true meaning of sacrificing for your children. I learned the meaning of unconditional love from a mother to a daughter. I also realized that not all teenagers had that support system as I did. A vision was placed in my heart then to one day have a teen home where I could provide that same loving, supporting atmosphere to others that were not as fortunate as I. I began dreaming about it, building it in my head and even envisioning what each room would look like and how I would feel empowering other young teenage mothers to love and care for themselves and their new baby just as I did. The vision of TK Home was born. This is Teri’s dream. Dreams really do come true. Watch!
